How to Prepare for the New Year: Day Six
Day Six: Hobbies
It’s always nice to have hobbies. Hobbies give you something to do with your own self outside of family and friends. There are really no rules as to what a hobby is as long as it is pleasurable for yourself.
Do what pleases you.
1. Learn a new hobby
New year, new you right? There should be room for new hobbies too. Take the time to explore and see what interests you. Or maybe you already had something in mind, but never made the time to try it out.
You can monetize your hobby if you choose to depending on what it is. Don’t make the mistake of trying to do so when you barely know the hobby yourself. Wait until you know you have perfected the skill before trying to make money off of it.
2. Share your gifts with the world
In this day and age the internet can be of many uses. You can use the internet to share whatever skills you have with a broader audience. There are even ways to spread the word about what you can provide too.
This will also be a great opportunity to perfect whatever you do. Now that you have to do it more frequently, you can take note of what can be done better and even use your audience’s interaction as feedback.
3. Find your community
Sometimes you just need to be surrounded by others who think like you do. When doing so, it motivates you to improve yourself. Finding others like yourself is a great way to make new friends and acquaintances. Through community you can find moral support that will help you through whatever life throws at you and more importantly aid you in perfecting your craft.
It’s okay if you don’t have a hobby. This is the time and opportunity to explore something new. Just try something new once. If you don’t like it, then you can always drop it and move on to the next.
